Spring isn't too far away, you know. It's good to
remember this, if your car didn't start this morning -and
we're not just talking about the cold in Minnesota!
It's been cold in a lot of other states this winter. I
have more reasons than getting rid of the cold weather to
look forward to spring this year. One reason in
particular is that we plan to begin the long awaited
construction of a new gymnasium on our campus. That's
right, this spring of 2004! Plans are approved,
blueprints are being drawn as I type, and bids are slated to
go out by the first week in March. We've never been so
far along in the process. Students can hardly wait any
more - they know what great benefits this will have to our
facilities and overall growth of the school. There's
something very exciting about seeing a dream come true.
I can't wait to invite you to come and see our new facility.
I can't wait to see the students on our campus enjoying the
new facility. No more crazy practice schedules - no
more home games at away gyms. Lets get this thing
built! But now we really have to finalize the funding of
this project. We are asking that all who have pledged
a gift to this campaign consider what amount could be given
before April 1st of this year. We'd even be so bold as
to ask that you increase your pledge and inform the HLA
Development Office in the next few days. We are so
excited to get started, that we've assigned the next 75 days
for focused contacts with people who also want this project
to begin now. We have targeted $750,000 as the amount
we need to raise by April 1st to ensure that this project
will start on time and finish on time - as early as March of
2005. Will you help us at this time? Your cash
gift will move us closer to the mark. We're presenting
the need, and strongly believe that you will meet this need.
Can God be glorified through this effort in the next 75
days? Absolutely! Just yesterday he reminded me
that with him nothing is impossible. Two gifts were
received that strengthened my faith, and convinced me that
God is in control. I expect that he will use the next
75 days to work in many lives and bring glory to himself.
