Update
Principal Steve Brue
October 1,
2003I am always amazed at the colors of
autumn. They add further richness to the words of the
Psalmist who wrote "the heavens declare the glory of God,
the skies proclaim the work of his hands." (Ps. 19:1.) Students
have been adding layers of clothes these past few days as
temperatures have dropped. But the busyness of
preparing for Homecoming week has kept spirits high.
As mentioned last week, we hope that out-of-town
families will be able to join for some of these events this
weekend.
A Parent-Teacher
Fellowship is planned for Saturday morning, Oct. 4th (10:15
a.m.-12:30pm).
Parents will meet the instructors of their child as they go
through a very condensed school day schedule. I am
thankful today for the ministry of Mr. Gregg Preston who has
assisted my office this year with chapel planning, Senior
Peer Ministry on Wednesday evenings, and other spiritual
formation events that students have participated in so far
this year. I am also grateful to Mr. Gaylen Peterson
who planned an excellent trip for our students this past
Saturday to Valley Fair amusement Park in Shakopee, MN.
We are blessed to have a great faculty team. The parking
lot phase of our construction plan has begun! This
week, caterpillars and earthmovers arrived on site to begin
shaping the area for an entrance onto the campus from the
southwest corner of our campus. They will also
construct a new parking lot area that will enhance parking
for our high school and seminary students, faculty, and
staff. This is answer to prayers. We are also
praying that those potential donors who have waited for the
project to begin will be drawn into the excitement so that
we can keep construction going until our new multi-purpose
building is constructed.
I'll keep last week's scripture focus on our minds for
emphasis, from Jeremiah 29:11 - "For I know the
plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper
you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a
future."
Have a blessed week. |
