Hillcrest Update
Principal Steve Brue
November 3, 2003

This past weekend, the Hillcrest boy's football team defeated Waubun in the 9-man section championship game at the Alerus Center in Grand Forks, ND.  Congratulations, team and coaches!  They advance now to State action, playing Cromwell this Friday evening.

We have a busy week ahead of us.  This Wednesday is our All School Prayer Day, a day set aside for students and staff to pray for our world, nation, churches, school and families.  The junior high, senior high, and seminary students will all participate in this time of prayer and spiritual nurturing.

Thursday evening is our Parent-Teacher Conference for Junior High families, beginning at 6:30 p.m.  Parents of 7th or 8th graders whose last name begin with A-H are asked to come from 6:30 p.m.- 7:30 p.m.  Parents of 7th or 8th graders whose last name begin with I-Z are asked to come at 7:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.

Grade 9-12 parent/teacher conferences are planned for Thursday evening, Nov. 13th.

We have planned a trip for high school students to visit the Mall of America in Minneapolis this Saturday.  This annual event is a highlight for students, many who are already thinking about Christmas shopping.

The Hillcrest Board of Directors meets next week beginning on Thursday evening.  Final decisions will be made on the timetable for starting construction of the new multi-purpose facility, given our financial means.  If you have not made a commitment to our building campaign, but are considering, now is an excellent time to make that pledge.

Thank you for your generosity in prayer, encouragement and financial support.  All genuine Christian generosity comes from the following supreme incentive stated in 2 Corinthians 8:9 - "For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sakes be became poor, so that you through his poverty might become rich."

Have a blessed week.
