Hillcrest
Update
Principal Steve Brue
December, 2004
Hillcrest student musicians performed this past weekend in
the Hillcrest Christmas Concert, with the theme, "A Wondrous
Revelation." They did an outstanding job, heralding
the great advent news that Immanuel is with us - news that
never grows old, but is born anew in our hearts by faith.
The Lord truly inhabits the praises of his people, which was
evident in both evening concerts. I am grateful to
Rev. David Strom and to Mr. Stephen Doering for their
oversight of this excellent event.
Here are a few other updates:
- The Hillcrest Student Council has planned a Christmas
banquet for the students and staff this next Saturday,
Dec. 11th at 6pm. This is an annual highlight for
the school family, with an excellent meal provided by the
HLA Food Service Staff.
- I just returned from a visit to the Danielsen School
in Bergen, Norway where I presented HLA to prospective
students and their parents for next school year.
Response was very positive, with a large number of
students expressing interest in attending Hillcrest next
year.
- The first semester is quickly drawing to a close.
Students will take their final examinations during the
week of December 13-17. School dismisses on Friday
afternoon, the 17th, for the Christmas break, and resumes
on Tuesday, January 5th at 8:25 a.m.
An end-of-the-calendar-year appeal has been mailed out to
families and alumni of HLA this week. We are praying
for a generous response to assist with our operational
expenses. Whatever you can give will be greatly
appreciated. Thank you in advance for your generosity!
Blessed Advent Season and Merry Christmas! May the
Lord reveal his faith, hope, and love in your lives in these
days ahead.
God's Peace,
Steve Brue, Principal |
