Update
Principal Steve Brue
December 17,
2003Students appear very happy today... it's
the last day of the first semester and they are ready for
the Christmas break! We've enjoyed a full December
of activities celebrating the Christmas message.
Students shared songs of this season at their annual
Christmas Concert two weekends ago. Our students from
Norway visited community groups and churches to spread some
Christmas cheer. The student body, faculty and guests
joined together for a Christmas Banquet in the HLA gymnasium
this past weekend, planned by the HLA Student Council.
Many thanks go out to our kitchen staff for the excellent
meal they provided! Numerous other acts of kindness
that usually go unnoticed to the public eye were also
included in these past couple of weeks. We remember
that it is God's way to give, so out of gratitude we are
able to do the same. My visit to the Danielsen
School in Bergen, Norway was a blessing. I met with a
large gathering of potential students and their parents.
We anticipate another full group of students in our school
program again next year. The hospitality of the
leaders and teachers of the Danielsen School was tremendous!
A new HLA Parents Advisory Team will officially meet
beginning in January of 2004. This parent group will
actively participate in communicating the positive changes
of our school program. The Board of Directors will
receive important feedback through this new forum of parent
communication for the school. This campus will become
very quiet by mid-afternoon today -- a postlude of peace
after a busy semester of hard work and great achievement.
The quiet break will be good. May you experience the
peace and joy that God has announced through the angels,
"Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on
whom his favor rests." Merry Christmas and Blessed New
Year! |
