Hillcrest
Update
Principal Steve Brue
March 3, 2004
The phrase "March Madness" is part of our vocabulary these
days, but not just because of basketball. In a much
greater sense, we now enter the final month of our campaign
push to raise the money necessary to construct Hillcrest's
new Student Activities Center. Let's turn madness to
rejoicing!
I have enjoyed seeing the excitement build among
students, parents, faculty, and alumni. This is truly
a team effort. One student presented Darren Rogness
with a list of people she will be contacting. Other
students have asked how they can help. That attitude
is very encouraging!
By now, our mass mailing appeal should have reached the
3,800 homes on our mailing list. Within a few days, a
significant number of alumni and friends will be contacted
by Board members, HLA staff, and students. The
"750K in 75 days" webpage will be updated daily during
the month of March. We want that separated piece in
the pie chart to shrink, and the rest of the pie to grow.
Your gift is significant, even crucial, at this point.
Many of you will participate in the Rummage/Bake sale
fund-raiser that will be hosted in the HLA gym on March 19,
20. A huge thanks to the HLA Parent Advisory Team for
coordinating this exciting event! We also continue sharing our campaign with local businesses in
Fergus Falls, and have received very positive responses.
Thank you to alumni and friends for joining us in
Lynnwood, WA for a rally two weeks ago. We have a
rally scheduled in Minneapolis, MN on March 20, and hope
to see a good turnout there, too. See the Alumni link
in this website for more info.
Psalm 37:3-7 reminds us to trust in the
Lord, delight ourselves in the Lord, commit
our ways to the Lord, and be still before the Lord.
Each of these attitudes have become more and more important
to me in this campaign journey. May His will be done
in these significant days ahead.
Have a blessed week!
