Hillcrest
Update
Principal Steve Brue
September 19,
2003It was nice to see the sun shine through
the clouds today after cloudy and wet weather these past few
days. We needed the rain, but its always nice to see
the sun again! Students look forward to our
annual outing to Valley Fair amusement park in Shakopee, MN
on Saturday, September 27th. We have a good group of
chaperones in place and expect this to be a great event for
the kids. Between school work, activities, and
sporting events, everyone seems to be busy these days.
The Student Council has informed all students of some fun
plans for Homecoming week. We hope that out-of-town
families will be able to join for some of these events, October 2-5.
A Parent-Teacher
Fellowship is planned for Saturday morning, Oct. 4th (10:15
a.m.-12noon).
Parents will meet the instructors of their child as they go
through a very condensed school day schedule. The
4-week progress report was sent yesterday to parents of
enrolled students. The next report comes at the end of
October as the first quarter draws to a close. The
Hillcrest Board of Directors met on the HLA campus last
Thursday and Friday. They have directed that our
building campaign have 2.3 million dollars in cash and
pledges by January, 2004 in order for bids to go out on
construction of the multi-purpose facility.
Accomplishing this will ensure that the building will be
ready by Graduation of 2005. We are moving forward in
boldness and faith.
We trust God's Word in Jeremiah 29:11 - "For I know the
plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper
you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a
future."
Have a blessed weekend. |
