Hillcrest Girls Smothers CGB, Celebrate Olstad’s 1,000th Point in Commanding Win
The Hillcrest Comets returned to the court with a vengeance after a two-week hiatus, posting a resounding 78-32 win over CGB. Hillcrest’s tenacious, disciplined, and decisive style of play was on full display as the Comets jumped out to a 49-17 halftime lead behind their signature defensive intensity and never looked back.
Leading the scoring for the Comets were the dynamic duo of Elsa Retzlaff and Ella Knutson, each pouring in 17 points. Retzlaff grabbed five rebounds and dealt five assists, while Knutson added four rebounds and five steals. Aaveah Stender contributed 10 points, and Emme Berge chipped in nine points and five rebounds, underlining the depth and versatility of this Hillcrest squad.
Amid the offensive fireworks, Kate Olstad scored her 1,000th career point—a remarkable milestone that reflects her unwavering work ethic and commitment. Olstad posted a well-rounded stat line with seven points, six rebounds, and six assists. Head Coach Hannah Clark beamed with pride, stating, “Her work ethic and positive attitude make her a great player and teammate, and we are all so happy for her reaching this milestone!”
Elin Retzlaff added another seven points and six boards, while Ruby Peterson dropped five points. Stella Moline and Natalie Maggert chipped in 3 points apiece, showing just how balanced Hillcrest’s attack can be down the bench. CGB’s leading scorer, Emily Kellen, fought hard and scored 17 points.
