This is an invitational basketball tournament for Lutheran Brethren churches & ministries, Hillcrest/LBS alumni and their families, and current Hillcrest families.

Registration Deadline: March 30
Important: The HIT Release Form must be downloaded & filled out before the first game of the tournament. Please bring the Release Form to your first game, your team may not play unless everyone has signed it.

 
 

Tournament Rules

The tournament will operate with the following divisional format:

  • Division I (College age/ability) | Avg. team age 18-28

  • Classic (Older players - traditional LB church teams ) | Avg. team age 25+

  • Division II (High school age/ability) | Avg. team age 16-30

  • Division III (Just for fun) | Avg. team age 12-16, 45-60


50% of your team must meet any of the following criteria: 

  • A member or regular attender of a Lutheran Brethren church or a church served by an LB pastor

  • An alum of HLA or LBS (Bible College or Seminary), a spouse or child of an alum, or a member of a current HLA or LBS family

  • An employee or intern in a Lutheran Brethren Ministry (Ipoint, Tuscarora, LB Missions, etc)

Each roster may have up to 15 players, but not less than 7 players (ages 12+). Names may be placed on the roster even if you aren’t sure the person(s) will be able to play, however, players cannot be listed on multiple rosters.

General Information

No refunds will be given within 14 days prior to the tournament unless another team wants in. We will not cancel this tournament because of weather. If the weather is bad, we will restructure the tournament for any who can make it. If you can’t make it because of the weather, we will refund $150. 

Early hotel reservations are recommended.

Each team should be prepared to play as early as 5:00 pm on the Friday of the tournament. 

Please bring your own basketballs. A men’s basketball will be used unless BOTH teams agree on using a women’s ball.
