Paraprofessional

Job Summary

The Paraprofessional II assists instructors and develops students through selected curriculum; working closely with the assigned instructor, supporting them in their duties. The position is caring, compassionate, and dedicated to the students’ success.

Position Requirements

  • Reflect the purpose of the school; honoring Christ in your interaction with students,

    parents, and employees

  • Assist instructors with conducting lessons and managing the classroom

  • Empower students through curriculum designed to enhance their academic and social

    achievements

  • Act as a nurturing and encouraging influence for students during lessons

  • Work closely with the assigned instructor; supporting them in their duties

  • Follow Matthew 18 principles regarding questions, concerns, or problems

  • Perform other related and non-related tasks as assigned

  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills; able to interact with students and

    families from various backgrounds

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Action and results oriented, self-starter, self-directed, and self-motivated with an

    entrepreneurial quality; able to work without daily oversight

  • Friendly and approachable; caring and compassionate

  • Confident, enthusiastic, capable, and professional

  • Provide a positive example to students by supporting the school’s Doctrinal Statement,

    Ethical Position Statement, and Mission of Hillcrest Lutheran Academy

  • Able to manage necessary software and database

 Education and Experience

  • Associate’s Degree in a related field OR

  • Two or more years of childhood development or education experience

  • Previous experience with Google Apps and Microsoft Office is preferred

Physical Requirements

  • Walking, standing, and sitting throughout the day

  • Able to lift up to 10 pounds occasionally

  • Able to move safely over various terrain, between buildings, up/down stairs

Salary and Benefits

  • Salary Range: $11.13 per hour, up to 40 hours per week, school-year position
