Lady Comets Open Season
The Lady Comets start the season on the road this year, behind a strong set of returners and a pair of electric newcomers that will build on successes in girls sports at Hillcrest this year.
Head coach Hannah Clark is entering her seventh year a the helm with a group of players who possess unique skills. “We will be quick and athletic, with all girls being able shoot the 3 and take it to the hoop.”
Returning for Hillcrest are guards Madi Foss and Madison Ballweg who are supported by Ruby Peterson and Ella Knutson. These four players have been with Clark the past few years, understanding her approach and style well.
Joining the Comets this year are Elsa Retzlaff and Elizabeth Olstad. The pair are expected to infuse an added dose of electricity into a strong Comet lineup that will create perimeter challenges for most teams in the conference.
“We will be long and athletic with multiple players able to defend and score at all levels,” Clark notes. “This group has great chemistry and plays unselfish basketball. I expect them to be competitive in every game this year. They are going to be a fun group to watch.”
The Comets start the season Saturday, Dec. 3 at Heritage Christian Academy.
