Comets Continue Rise in Win over Wheaton/Herman-Norcross

 

In a powerhouse performance, Hillcrest Academy dominated the court on Thursday night in Wheaton, leaving the Wheaton/Herman-Norcross Warriors in defeat. Hillcrest notched three consecutive sets of 25-15, 25-16, and an impressive 25-9 close.

Hillcrest's Head Coach Debi Foss noted, "We played much more relaxed and consistent tonight. A few of the girls achieved personal goals that they had set for themselves on their own. Iā€™m proud of how they are working both individually and as a team, to get us to the next level. Everyone got opportunities to do exciting things tonight.ā€

The Comets were led by Ruby Peterson, who orchestrated a symphony of plays with 27 set assists, 3 explosive kills, and 12 digs. Anna Brumfield delivered 3 aces, 9 kills, and 9 diving digs. Emily Adams contributed with 6 aces and 4 kills, while Ella Knutson provided 4 kills and 7 digs. Kenzie Miller showcased 3 aces, 5 spectacular kills, and 5 digs. Elsa Retzlaff, with 7 kills, 8 digs, and 1 ace, was a impressive. Chloe Walkup and Maddie Miller showcased their defense with 4 and 3 gritty digs, respectively.

The Comets are now set to continue their rise, with their next eshowdown scheduled for Tuesday of homecoming against Cliniton-Graceville-Beardsley.
