Peterson's 1000th Set Assist Lifts Comet Volleyball in Viking Tournament

In high school volleyball, where countless athletes set, spike, and dive for their teams, one name shines brightly: Ruby Peterson, who recently achieved the remarkable milestone of tallying her 1000th set assist in her high school career.

Peterson is an important piece to Comet Volleyball’s successes as of late. With unwavering dedication, she has scrapped, dug, dived, and soared through the air to set up her teammates for thunderous kills and strikes that have propelled the Comets to unprecedented heights.

Reaching the 1000th set assist mark is a remarkable achievement in high school volleyball. Many girls participate in the sport, but only a select few achieve this feat during their high school careers. Peterson's dedication and passion for her craft have set her apart as a true standout.

This milestone was significant for the Comets during the Pelican Rapids invitational tournament. The Comets showcased their prowess and dominance throughout the competition, keeping the Vikings on their heels. As they entered the final match, the Vikings needed to win two of the final three sets to raise the trophy in their home invitational tournament.

Though the Comets came home with second place, their performance left an indelible mark, signaling the bond the team is making as the season continues.

As the Comets look ahead, they carry strong leadership with the seniors on their team, and after Ruby Peterson’s remarkable milestone, the team carries a fortified belief that they can match any team in the exciting journey they’re on this season.
