President Brad Talks Gratitude and HLA on Recent Podcast Episode
Dear Hillcrest Family and Friends,
There’s power in Thanksgiving weekend. Lately, I've intentionally noticed where God is moving and am thankful to see it. This past week, it’s been in our students' laughter, our teachers' dedication, and our community.
Scripture repeatedly reminds us of the power of a thankful heart. David danced before the Lord with all his might, singing praises. Paul, even while imprisoned, wrote letters overflowing with gratitude. Gratitude isn't just an act; it's a way of life that draws us closer to God and each other.
Here at Hillcrest Academy, we're embracing this spirit of thankfulness in tangible ways
One way I experienced thankfulness this last week came after attending a recent chapel, where Kate Olstad shared how God's faithfulness has been a guiding light in her life. She spoke about her journey, from her confirmation classes with her grandfather to her daily practice of reading Scripture. Kate said:
"Through reading the Bible, I get to see God being faithful to His people and being faithful to show me what He can teach me as I read it. The Bible is a treasure, and it's worth our time because God is faithful."
Her words reminded me that no matter where we are on our journey, God's faithfulness remains constant. Kate found that journaling her prayers allowed her to see God's hand at work—sometimes in expected ways, other times in surprising ones. It's a practice that deepens her faith and heightens her awareness of His presence.
As we continue this holiday season, I'm reminded of how much we have to be grateful for at Hillcrest:
Our Students: Young minds eager to learn and grow in their faith.
Our Staff: Dedicated individuals who pour their hearts into teaching and mentoring.
Our Community: Supportive families and friends who partner with us in this mission.
Looking ahead, Giving Tuesday is coming up on December 3. This global movement is a wonderful opportunity to support ministries that are making a real difference. As you give on Tuesday, would you consider Hillcrest and join us by making a year-end donation? You can make a donation here>>
Thank you for being a cherished part of the Hillcrest family. Your support means more than words can express. May your Thanksgiving be filled with joy, gratitude, and the rich blessings of God.
With a grateful heart,
President Brad Hoganson
