As the festive season wrapped up, the Hillcrest Comets showcased more than just their basketball skills. In a closely contested match against Sacred Heart, the Comets may have fallen short in the score, but their spirit and unity shone bright, ending with a final score of Hillcrest 72 Sacred Heart 76.

The game was a display of resilience and teamwork. Despite early setbacks, including trouble in rebounding and early foul troubles, the Comets bounced back stronger in the second half. Elsa Retzlaff's all-around prowess also shone brightly, contributing 20 points, nine rebounds, and six assists. The game also marked a strong return for Ruby Peterson, who added 12 points, five steals, and four assists, with Coach Clark commending her aggressive offensive play.

Other contributors included Aaveah Stender with a steady six points and four rebounds, Brooke Swedberg chipping in with three points, and Emme Berge rounding off the scoring with two points.

Each player stepped up, filling gaps and rallying around each other. This unity is becoming a hallmark of the Hillcrest Comets, indicative of a team that grows stronger and more cohesive as the season progresses.

As the season continues, the Hillcrest Comets show signs of a team that can handle pressure, adapt to challenges, and support each other on and off the court. Their performance over the Christmas break is a testament to their dedication and unity, qualities that will surely serve them well in future games.
